About Us/Donations

SIERRA MINISTRIES works intentionally to develop Christian volunteers in ministry and leadership positions. More than 50 individuals from multiple cities comprise its various ministry teams and groups. The organization was established as a non-profit corporation in Sonora, California in 1985 and is governed by a Board of Directors:

Rev. Dan Prout, President
Dan, an ordained minister, has served with Young Life and pastored in several California congregations. Dan is frequently invited to speak on prayer and healing as well as other topics. To contact Dan call 530-478-1478 or email him at sierraministries@nccn.net.

Lt. Paul Wilson (retired), Vice-President
A career fireman and Emergency Medical Technician, Paul has served the Board since its inception.

Mr. Dale MacInnis, Founder and Board Member
Dale is an independent businessman, directs a musical group, and serves Catholic Social Services in his community.

DONATIONS / CONTRIBUTIONS
Sierra Ministries is a federally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation or a contribution to support the ministry of Sierra Ministries you may do so either directly through writing a Personal Check and using PayPal or indirectly through iGive.com and AmazonSmile (which directs portions of your online purchases to Sierra Ministries). Instructions for all options are listed below.

iGIVE.COM

1. Shop at any of 1,400+ online stores. You never pay more and just about anything you buy counts. Donations range from .5% to over 20% varying by store.

2. Go to http://www.iGive.com/SierraMinistriesInternational. Enroll by giving your name, email address, and by creating a personal password.

3. You can shop at stores by either going through the iGive.com website or for ease you can add the iGive Button then go directly to any website you choose and shop as usual and never miss a donation when you shop. Directions for downloading the iGive Button is located on the bottom of the iGive.com Shop & Compare page. If the retailer is connected to iGive, your purchase will be automatically recorded and notice sent to iGive. You will see the "iGive On" icon in the lower right hand corner of the site's web page, confirming that your purchases there will help Sierra Ministries International. (Some stores may require you to confirm that you want to donate to SMI. If you see the large red iGive button on the store’s website, please click it to continue.)

AMAZON SMILE
AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com. The difference is that when customers shop on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to Sierra Ministries. There is no cost to AmazonSmile customers or to Sierra Ministries.

To get started go to http://www.smile.amazon.com/. When first visiting AmazonSmile, use your current Amazon.com sign in and password. You will be prompted to select a charitable organization; simply type in Sierra Ministries International and select it from the pop up.

The Rev. Dan H. Prout is president of Sierra Ministries, a Christian teaching and training organization. He is the founder of Pray Nevada County and one of the founding organizers of the state-wide coalition Pray California. Dan serves with North State Pastors Regional Team, a trans-denominational fellowship promoting prayer and unity in the Body of Christ.

Dan is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California. Director of the Healing Ministry of Nevada County, he has formerly served on the staff of Young Life and has pastored in four California congregations.

Dan is a “transformationist”. He is committed to developing and training the body of Christ in spiritual strategy to see the Good News of Jesus Christ transform the whole of society, to see God’s will done on earth as it is in heaven.

Parents of four children who are now young adults, Dan and his wife Kathleen live in Nevada City, California, northeast of Sacramento.
